Meet four of High Point's Jr. High students. They share stories of transformative experiences, community service, what they will take with them to high school, and how to successfully deal with homework.

dad like to introduce you to four of our 8th graders we're going to tell you about their experiences at Highpoint fourth grade and when I first came to High Point myself as a really shy person who had closed boundaries and was afraid to speak their mind and I think that with the welcoming really that High Point provided for me and like my friends and my teachers and my peers I think that my personality has made a full circle much more confident speaker now which will definitely help me my future and outside of High Point I love playing soccer and something I'm really passionate about I my name is Anthony I felt at home the community was always do welcoming of teachers or something I can just made it feel like y'all's if I belong in the heart like I've been there for so many years school I like to swim do Girl Scouts is how everyone raced each other up and sets the bar high. So we all work hard together I my name is Ethan I've been at High Point since 5th one of the more striking things I think that's I've noticed about High Point is their integration and how they can take someone who is completely new to the school like me for instance and fully give them into this mesh of people supporting each other and helping each other a week into 5th grade I already felt like I known many of the people there for quite some time it was very comfortable one thing that I will never forget it. Sears girls soccer season and our team was like I don't know we just interlock so perfectly and the way we talk to each other we are like a family and the appreciation and love that both coaches put into the season really made me look at the game of soccer I know president asked me when I drink high point I had a passion for mathematics that High Point took and blew into a big flame since I joined High Point I've had many opportunities to expand on my knowledge of mathematics I've had math Olympia as Andrews all these things that I don't think I would have been able to encounter had I stayed at my old school 6th grade to Eaton Canyon right by her school yet the plant look like and that project like they brought it in and it would put them on a certain day either it was during the Super Bowl so it was called like Super Bowl with soup can you put the soup can on the table that you wanted the team to win and at the end they counted it and it was just a nice experience I think everybody really excited about doing community service manage my time efficiently so that I can finish them all my work and do it well so that I can go to practice and one thing that I really don't it's just small thing but it's made a huge impact is one like last year Mr Lewis gave us a lecture about how distracting notifications on a phone or feel like you get that noise and you trying to be for active in your work and now all your tension has been put into that notification so now when I do my homework I either turn off all my notifications are just put my phone into another room or one of the main things like getting your homework done quickly is being more organized the teachers especially in junior high they have not given us a bunch of platform tools we can use to be more organized with five helps with it almost done more efficiently and I actually helps me a lot easy to use to get your homework done is using a common time that we have should I give us about 30 minutes per day we can work on work we can relax read a book you would want to get homework done during that time that you have a time after school to do activities or sports or whatever you have one I would say to manage your homework well I'll write everything down if you like you know put down a schedule like if you have sports after school at that in Factory in and be sure to take lots of breaks if you don't take breaks you might burn out and your brain might just become too tired to do any meaningful work I think that my ability to communicate is going to be the most helpful thing for me and High School as I said before in fourth grade I was really afraid to speak my mind and Leadership I think my way of communicating has really improved and this is a really important skill for like high school projects and service project stuff like that organized give me a stools Benedict more organized really help me Mexican high school over me don't have grown up together I feel like I really know treat people well I know how to talk to people all these friends are like the best friends I've made and I just mean take away from me from High Point is going to be my cooperation skills because when I joined I was timid I was very introverted I really didn't like working with other people but at High Point I learned to work with other people to cooperate and I think that's going to really help me
