Our Junior High Science Program helps to inspire and engage students and to develop skills they will need to be successful in the 21st Century. These skills include: creativity and innovation, critical thinking and problem solving, communication and collaboration. High Point students are engaged and instructed through a balance of inquiry- based learning, teacher- led instruction, hands on laboratory activities, student projects, discussions and debates. STEM and STEAM activities are integrated into the curriculum, which includes the opportunity to learn and create designs on a 3D printer. Our science students also use an online interactive learning portal and a digital ebook.
The 7th grade studies Life Science for the year, which includes a 3 day trip to Catalina Island in the Fall. The 8th grade studies Physical Science, which includes a semester of Chemistry and a semester of Physics.
