Ms. Pearson earned her Bachelor of Science degree in human development with a minor in psychology at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. She came to Pasadena to complete an MA at Pacific Oaks College. Most recently she has been employed by the Glendale Unified School District, working with students in grades 2 through 5. In Pasadena, she has been a substitute teacher within PUSD and at Polytechnic School. In her work as a lead first-grade teacher, she developed classroom-learning centers that focused on exploration and discovery for children. She also created a positive discipline program that relied on children learning to take responsibility for their behaviors and learning problem-solving skills in the process. Her years of experience as head teacher in nursery school settings has given her years of proficiency in helping children develop ease in making transition and mastering socialization.
