Bio

Ms. Jessica Butterfield, was raised in the foothills of California. Jessica attended Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, for her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with concentrations in International and Marketing Management. With a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential and Master of Arts in Education (emphasis in Curriculum and Instruction) from Chapman University, she began teaching 4th and 2nd grades in Boulder Valley School District in Colorado. Next, Ms. Butterfield moved to Los Angeles and taught 6th grade for three years at Los Encinos School, and then transitioned to Mirman School for the Highly Gifted. At Mirman, Jessica taught 2nd grade, Pre Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Precalculus, and electives on Entrepreneurship. Ms. Butterfield moved from the classroom into administration and served as Head of the Lower School (K-5) at New Roads School in Santa Monica.

Ms. Butterfield is passionate about neuroeducation, differentiation, and designing curriculum. When the leadership opportunity arose at High Point, a perfect match was made. Ms. Butterfield works closely with all faculty in planning curriculum, providing meaningful professional development, implementing faculty evaluations, and aligning curriculum K-8. She lives with her husband in Los Feliz, and spends her free time traveling, gardening, and competing in show jumping competitions with her beloved horse T.K.
