Phase
1 – Development
Director pitches
story, or submits a one or two page properly formatted script with action
and dialogue, or an outline if the project is one that can be improvised.
Mr. Baker reviews script
and accepts or passes on the project. Refer to Project
Tips for criteria.
Actors are auditioned, a
cast is selected, and the production is scheduled.
Script or outline is storyboarded
by Director. Production will NOT proceed without the storyboard.
Storyboards can be either hand drawn or staged with actors and photographed.
Phase 2 – Production
Director assembles
creative team, blocks and rehearses cast. The camera will roll
during rehearsals.
Cast and crew assemble and
shoot the movie.
Time frame: Typically
3 sequential forty-five minute shoots.
Approximately half of this
time will involve setting up and breaking down the equipment and set.
Phase 3 – Post Production
Edit movie on computer,
add sound effects and music.
Time frame: Typically,
about twice as long as the number of shoots.
Rough cut is presented to
Headmaster for approval before posting to Internet.
Phase 4 – Presentation
Movie is uploaded
to MovieMakers website for viewing.
