Please read each step before you begin the kindergarten application process. Children applying for kindergarten for the 2018-2019 school year must be 5 years old by September 1, 2018. All applications are due January 19, 2018. Please call the admissions office for more information.
Make a reservation online to join a tour or attend an Open House. These events are designed for parents, however older school-aged children may attend, if appropriate (See "Admissions Tours and Open Houses"). Step 2
Complete and submit the online application.
You will be prompted to pay the $100 application fee before you can successfully complete the application process. If you wish to pay with an alternative method or have any questions regarding the payment process, please call our office at (626) 798-8989.Step 3
Give the Kindergarten Recommendation Form
and a stamped envelope addressed to High Point Academy to your child’s current preschool teacher. These forms are due February 1, 2018.Step 4
Schedule an appointment with Integrated Learning Solutions (ILS) by visiting their website, www.integratedlearningsolutions.org
, or by calling (626) 568-8558. To hear more information about the kindergarten readiness assessment, ILS has a Parent Information Evening on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at High Point Academy from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Please note that this event is for parents only.Step 5
Schedule your child’s visit to High Point. The Admissions Office will contact you after the application is received, to schedule your child’s visit to one of our play date sessions. These visits will be held in January and February at 2:15 p.m. During these visits, your child, along with a small group of children, will participate in organized play outside and other school readiness activities inside the kindergarten classroom. While you wait, you will have a chance to talk to current parents and to a school administrator.Step 6
