Adventure Club
The Adventure Club meets about once a month to participate in outdoor-oriented activities such as hiking, rock climbing, and camping. All junior high students who are in good standing according to the guidelines laid out in the Parent Student Handbook are eligible.

Ballet Class
Ballet is open to boys and girls in grade K through 3. Please check in the office for information on the next session.

Chess Club
Chess improves critical thinking, planning and strategy, patience development, problem solving, and good sportsmanship. All levels, from beginning to advanced, from K through 8 are welcome!

Mandarin
Mandarin meets Wednesdays after school and is open to all students in grades K through 8. Children learn by singing, dancing, and playing games. New forms and grammar concepts are presented in contextualized situations.

Robotics Club
Drop-in Robotics Club will be open to all seventh and eighth grade students in good standing who have participated in the sixth grade robotics curriculum at HPA. Students will use the school’s Lego Mindstorms© equipment and software.

Science Adventures
Science Adventures meets on Tuesday afternoons, for students in grades K through 5. Please come into the office for a schedule of upcoming classes.

Speech and Debate
High Point Academy seventh and eighth graders compete with several local schools in a Speech and Debate League. Students participate in a variety speech and debate events in four tournaments held through the year.

Student Council
Seventh and eighth grade students elect Student Council Representatives who plan community service and social activities for the junior high and the school at large.

Tech Club/MovieMakers
Making use of technology and a broad range of creative talents, Tech Club and MovieMakers is open to actors, writers, artists, and tech savvy students in grades 6-8 who have a strong desire to make films, create hand drawn animation using Paint Shop Pro and Macromedia Flash MX, build clay animation figures, and more.
